SSC CGL 2022 notification for Group B / C Vacancy

The Staff Selection Commission has issued SSC CGL 2022 notification today for Various Group ‘B’ and Group ‘C’ Vacancies across central government ministries, departments and organization. Interested candidates who have already completed Bachelor Degree in any subject from a recognized University or Institute are eligible to apply to SSC CGL 2022 vacancy. For general and OBC categories, applicants are also required to pay Rs. 100/- fee to apply. There is no fee for SC/ST/Women and Ex-Servicemen categories. Candidates who are required to pay the application fee must do so through net-banking/credit cards or debit cards or cash through SBI bank challan.

SSC CGL Exam – Important Facts

The SSC Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination is one of the many exams conducted by the Staff Selection Commission each year. The Staff Selection Commission conducts the Combined Graduate Level exams to recruit candidates for the different positions in ministries, organizations, and departments of the Government of India. Being said that, it is one of the most popular exams taken by the youth in the country.

The exam is conducted by the Staff Selection Commission to recruit individuals for different Group B and Group C posts. The Combined Graduate Level or CGL exam is a 4 Tier Recruitment ProgramTier 1 includes the preliminary examination which is conducted online. Tier 2 includes the main examination which is also conducted online. Tier 3 is a descriptive exam that is conducted offline. And Tier 4 is the data entry skill test or computer proficiency test.

Levels for SSC CGL Exam

In summary, the recruitment process of this SSC CGL is done at four levels as following:

  • Level 1: Preliminary exam that is held entirely online
  • Level 2: Mains exam that is also wholly held online
  • Level 3: Descriptive exam that is generally held in offline mode
  • Level 4: Data Entry Examination or Computer Proficiency Examination

Syllabus and Exam Sections

The online exams of the Combined Graduate Level consist of different sections such as General Intelligence and Reasoning, Quantitative Aptitude, English Comprehension, and General Awareness. In the descriptive exam, as a candidate, you are asked to write a letter and essay on the provided topic. These are the different syllabus options that you can expect in the Combined Graduate Level exam.

SSC CGL Age Limit

The minimum age requirement to appear for the Combined Graduate Level exam is 18 years, whereas the maximum age requirement to appear for the Combined Graduate Level exam is 32 years. However, the actual age limit will vary depending upon the positions that you are applying for.

Admission to the Examination

  1. All candidates who register themselves in response to this advertisement by the closing date and time and whose applications are found to be in order and are provisionally accepted by the Commission as per the terms and conditions of this Notice of Examination will be assigned Roll numbers and issued Admission Certificates (AC) by the Regional Offices of the Commission for appearing in the Computer Based Examination. Subsequently, qualified candidates will be issued Admission Certificates for the next stages of the Examination.
  2. The Commission will not undertake detailed scrutiny of applications for the eligibility and other aspects at the time of written examination and, therefore, candidature will be accepted only provisionally. Candidates must go through the requirements of educational qualification, experience, age, physical and medical standards etc. and satisfy themselves that they are eligible for the post(s). Copies of supporting documents will be sought at the time of Document Verification. Physical and medical standards will be ascertained by the User Departments after the declaration of result. When scrutiny is undertaken, if any claim made in the application is not found substantiated, the candidature will be cancelled and the Commission‘s decision shall be final.
  3. Admission Certificates for all stages of examination will be issued online on the websites of concerned Regional Office of the Commission. Candidates are therefore advised to regularly visit the websites of the Commission Headquarters (i.e. https://ssc.nic.in) and Regional Office concerned of the Commission under whose jurisdiction the examination centres opted by the candidate are located.
  4. Information about the Examination indicating the time table and City/ Centre of examination for the candidates will be uploaded on the websites of the Regional Office concerned of the Commission about two weeks before the date of examination. If any candidate does not find his detail on the website of the Commission, one week before the date of examination, he must immediately contact the Regional Office concerned of the Commission with proof of having submitted his application. Failure to do so will deprive him of any claim for consideration.
  5. Candidate must write Registration Number, registered Email-ID and Mobile Number along with name, date of birth and name of the examination, while addressing any communication to the Commission. Communication from the candidate not furnishing these particulars shall not be entertained.
  6. Facility to download Admission Certificates will be made available 3-7 days before the examination on the website of Regional Office concerned. Candidate must bring printout of the Admission Certificate to the Examination Hall.
  7. In addition to the Admission Certificate, it is mandatory to carry at least two passport size recent colour photographs, Original valid Photo-ID proof having the Date of Birth as printed on the Admission Certificate, such as:
    1. 14.7.1 Aadhaar Card/ Printout of E-Aadhaar,
    2. 14.7.2 Voter’s ID Card,
    3. 14.7.3 Driving License,
    4. 14.7.4 PAN Card,
    5. 14.7.5 Passport,
    6. 14.7.6 ID Card issued by University/ College/ School,
    7. 14.7.7 Employer ID Card (Govt./ PSU),
    8. 14.7.8 Ex-Serviceman Discharge Book issued by Ministry of Defence,
    9. 14.7.9 Any other photo bearing ID Card issued by the Central/ State Government.
  8. If Photo Identity Card does not have the date of birth printed on it then the candidate must carry an additional original document (e.g. Matriculation Certificate, Marks Sheet issued only by CBSE/ ICSE/ State Boards; Birth Certificate, Category Certificate) in proof of their date of birth. In case of mismatch in the date of birth mentioned in the Admission Certificate and photo ID/ Certificate brought in support of date of birth, the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  9. PwD candidates availing the facility of scribes as per Para 7.1 and 7.2 shall also be required to carry requisite Medical Certificate/ Undertaking/ Photocopy of the Scribe’s Photo ID Proof, as specified therein. Candidates without above noted documents will not be allowed to appear in the examination.
  10. Any other document mentioned in the Admission Certificate shall also be carried by the candidates while appearing in the Examination.
  11. Applications with blurred photograph and/or signature will be rejected.
